Privacy Policy
Tiny Beacon is a lightweight, open-source device provisioning and configuration platform. We are committed to transparency and privacy. This Privacy Policy details the limited scope of data we process, collect, and store.
1. Information We Collect
Because Tiny Beacon is designed with minimal data collection in mind, we only store the following Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for account management and security purposes:
- Registration Email: Used as your unique login identifier and to contact you about your account.
- Company / Publisher Name: Used to label your account and identify your customized branding profiles.
2. Device Provisioning Data
When using the Tiny Beacon Web BLE Provisioner to configure local IoT devices:
- WiFi credentials (SSID and Password) and any custom configuration values are transmitted directly to the IoT hardware via a local Web Bluetooth (BLE) connection.
- These credentials are never sent to, stored by, or processed on our backend servers. They remain strictly local on your administration computer and the target IoT hardware.
3. Where Data is Stored
All database records, user profiles, and activation history logs are securely hosted and stored in data centers located inside Europe.
4. Data Retention
We retain your registration email and publisher name for as long as your account remains active. Device activation records (MAC addresses and custom field metrics) can be deleted by removing the associated application profile from your dashboard.
5. Contact Us
As an open-source project, Tiny Beacon does not have a dedicated privacy officer. If you have questions about how your data is handled or wish to inspect the system architecture, you are welcome to audit our public source code repository.
